Financial Controller required for well established company in Galway city. Hybrid.
Reporting to senior management team.
Key responsibilities:
Financial:
- Reconcile Nominal Ledger accounts
- Post all Nominal Ledger Journals for wages/depreciation/prepayments/accruals
- Prepare Detailed Monthly Management Accounts with comparison to budget and to last year
- Prepare Annual Budgets
- Prepare Financial Accounts for Audit including all audit schedules
- Liaise with Auditor regarding year end accounts for SAS and FGP
- Assist with Management Meeting Minutes and PSA/ISO Audits where necessary
- Complete and Submit Bi monthly VAT returns
- Credit Control
- Post all deposits to the Factoring bank account on QuickBooks,
- Deal with sales ledger posting queries and issues
- Complete Company searches as required for new customers.
- Complete New Supplier Setup forms for new customers
- Process all purchase ledger transactions and reconcile supplier accounts and pay all suppliers monthly
Payroll:
- Supervise payroll payments and liaise with accounts assistant regarding payroll queries
- Deal with all HR Issues, liaising with external bodies e.g. IBEC.
- Complete monthly PAYE and year end payments to Revenue.
Banking:
- Maintain Current Account and draw funds from factoring account to ensure limits not exceeded
- Reconcile monthly the factoring bank account and the sales ledger with factoring equivalent
Fleet Management:
- Maintain Fleet Register and add and remove vans from insurance
- Arrange to and deal with selling vans coming off the fleet
- Arrange all finance leases on Fleet Vans including early redemption payments and payment queries
- Source new fleet supplier
Insurance:
- Liaise with company insurance company to deal with all insurance claims and associates payments
- Prepare Declarations for Annual Insurance Renewal and liaise with Brokers re same
- Distribute Certification and Insurance information to customers as necessary
Requirements:
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
- Minimum of 7 years’ of demonstrated experience in a senior finance role, preferably at Financial Controller level.
- Excellent system skills with advanced Excel (Macros).
- Strong people management experience
- Analytical with good problem-solving skills
- Strong business / commercial acumen
- Good knowledge of ISO systems and procedures
