Our client, a global leader in food manufacturing products is seeking an EHS Specialist on a permanent basis. Your responsibilities will include supervising every aspect of the health and safety department. This position will be based in Macroom, Co Cork. Attractive package on offer.
As EHS Specialist you will: (full job description available on request)
Conduct EHS risk assessments and audits, including completing assessments, implementing controls, and maintaining safety statements and risk registers
Develop mitigation plans to address identified risks, which may involve process modifications, SOP adjustments, training, etc.
Assist and manage the delivery of key projects within a broader project team, impacting site objectives such as confined space work, working at heights, handling chemicals, and contractor management.
Collaborate with frontline management to coach, guide, and advise on accident/incident investigations and implement preventive measures
Oversee the analysis of LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) training needs, organize and conduct training programs to meet standards, and maintain training records.
Promote a safety-first culture among all colleagues and contractors, working with the EHS team to evolve and coordinate the site's behavioral safety program.
The ideal EHS Specialist will have:
Third-level qualification in Engineering/Health and Safety or related discipline
At least 1-2 years experience in health and safety in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge and experience of Lock Out Tag Out would be beneficial
Excellent communication skills with the ability to deliver training and presentations to groups
